You're about to see Astros prospect Conrad Gregor (fourth-rounder in 2013 out of Vanderbilt) clout his first home run of the 2014 season for Low-A Quad Cities. You're also about to see a rather enthusiastic fan catch said home run ...

Who's that man in the stately white shirt and blue hat? Here's the Quad City Times with the big reveal:

“That was my dad,’’ Gregor explained after the River Bandits finished off the three-game sweep of the Kernels.

That’s right, Marty Gregor, visiting the Quad-Cities for the series on a family trip from Carmel, Ind., caught his son’s first home-run ball of the season.

“He may have to watch every game from out there,’’ Gregor said. “It’s a little unbelievable, but I’m glad my parents were here to see it and when I got back to the dugout, I heard he made a pretty good catch.’’

Pops did indeed make a "pretty good catch," on a number of levels. No matter what's ahead for Conrad's baseball career, this moment won't be forgotten.

And the people say: uplifting!
