The Mariners beat the Rangers, 9-2, on Sunday in Arlington and the game provided some comic relief. In the bottom of the sixth, Mariners manager Lloyd McClendon went to his bullpen. He called for Tony Zych, but Joe Beimel wrongly believed he was getting the call.
That's somewhat funny. Enough to throw up in this space here on a slow Monday morning. While we're here, it's worth mention that it's probably surprising this doesn't happen more often, especially if there are two pitchers up who both throw with the same arm.
