Report: Kings looking to trade forwards, acquire shot blocker
Sacramento wants rim protection and realizes it has enough stretch and pure power forwards to make a small army.
The Sacramento Bee reports that the Sacramento Kings are looking to trade some of their forwards and acquire a shot blocker and defender inside.

The Kings have on roster Rudy Gay, DeMarcus Cousins, Carl Landry, Derrick Williams, Jason Thompson, Reggie Evans and Quincy Acy who can all conceivably play the four. That's a lot of money tied up in guys who aren't rim protectors. Evans and Acy can give hard fouls, but don't have great size to combat at the rim. Thompson in particular is just kind of left over from the previous regime and doesn't have a place on the modern Kings team.
Now, granted, they could have just drafted Noah Vonleh at No. 8 instead of Nik Stauskas to give them insane length to pair with Cousins, but they'd still be stuck with this glut of forwards, and they wanted a shooter.
Rim protection is at a premium in this league though, and finding a suitable addition could be difficult. They do have pretty good players with upside to move, though, especially if they package last year's first-round pick Ben McLemore in a deal, with Stauskas taking his spot.
Their first priority has to be figuring out a point guard solution, though, with Isaiah Thomas a restricted free agent the Kings aren't exactly itching to match an offer on but don't want to let go for nothing.
