The Minnesota Timberwolves are "finalizing a guaranteed contract" with free agent center Miroslav Raduljica for the rest of the season, according to RealGM's Shams Charania.
Raduljica, a seven-footer, had spent the past week finalizing his buyout settlement with Shandong of the Chinese Basketball Association.
Raduljica’s agent, Matt Babcock of APAA Sports Group, gauged calls around the NBA upon settling the situation in China and sought a guaranteed deal.
In 14 games with Shandong, Raduljica averaged 18.3 points and 9.14 rebounds per game, shooting 53.8 percent from the field. Last year as a rookie with the Milwaukee Bucks, he averaged 3.8 points and 2.3 rebounds in 9.7 minutes per game. The Bucks traded him to the Los Angeles Clippers in August, and he was then released.
Minnesota has been thin up front for most of the season, with Nikola Pekovic and Ronny Turiaf hurt. The soon-to-be 27-year-old Raduljica gives the team some needed size.
