Williams tore his left ACL during Wednesday's practice and he'll likely be placed on Injured Reserve, Jim McBride of the Boston Globe reports.
As expected, Williams' injury was a serious one as he was seen on crutches Thursday awaiting the unfortunate results. This ensures Clay Harbor's spot as the No. 3 option at tight end behind Rob Gronkowski and Martellus Bennett heading into the 2016 season, as Williams enters a long road to recovery.
Brady announced Friday he is no longer proceeding with the legal process regarding his involvement in "Deflategate", ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
Brady's request for a second hearing was denied by the Second U.S. District Court of Appeals on Wednesday, leaving the star quarterback with little optimism that his four-game suspension would ever be overturned. Without appealing to the Supreme Court, Brady will be sidelined while Jimmy Garoppolo leads the Patriots' offense for the beginning of the season. Expect Brady to be back on the field when New England takes on the Browns in a Week 5 matchup.
Foster (Achilles) is expected to be a big part of the passing game out of the backfield, Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald reports.
How much Foster will contribute to Miami this season will depend on how well is Achilles has healed and whether or not he has lost a step. He will need to pass a conditioning test Friday before participating in camp. Head coach Adam Gase is a big believer in Foster's ability to catch the ball out of the backfield even comparing his route tree to that of a wide receiver. Jay Ajayi still goes into training camp atop the RB depth chart but if Foster proves to be completely recovered from his injury than it would seem that he could go into Week 1 as the starter.
Jordan is not a lock to make the Dolphins squad out of training camp even if he is reinstated from his suspension, Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports.
Jordan is due a roster bonus of almost $1.7 million if he is still with Miami on the fifth day of training camp. That price may be to much to pay for a Miami club who really don't know how Jordan will play coming off a suspension. He may have to show an awful lot in quick order to assure the Miami brass that he is worth that roster bonus.
