2014 NFL Draft: Cowboys earn a B+ for picking OL Zack Martin at No. 16
The Cowboys have taken offensive lineman Zack Martin with No. 16 pick.
Somewhat of a late riser in the 2014 NFL Draft, Zack Martin heard his name called early thanks to the supply and demand of offensive linemen in this draft, as the Cowboys nabbed him with the No. 16 pick of the 2014 NFL Draft.
The pick, albeit a surprise, gets high praise from CBSSports.com senior writer Pete Prisco.
Martin a good pick for a team that needed OL help. They didn't get caught up in the hype. OL will be damn good. B+ http://t.co/KPxAyHqyNs— Pete Prisco (@PriscoCBS) May 9, 2014
Initially Martin wasn’t high on many boards because he’s not a “pure tackle” but what vaulted him up during the draft process was his versatility. Martin can play guard or tackle and even dabble at center if need be.
A four-year starter with Notre Dame, Martin spent most of his time starting at tackle but projects all over the place. He’s more athletic than he’s given credit for but doesn’t necessarily have the ideal size.

Zack Martin should sign a fully GTD 4-year, $8,967,800 deal with a $1,630,509 '14 cap number. His signing bonus should be $4,842,036.— Joel Corry (@corryjoel) May 9, 2014
