Somewhat of a late riser in the 2014 NFL Draft, Zack Martin heard his name called early thanks to the supply and demand of offensive linemen in this draft, as the Cowboys nabbed him with the No. 16 pick of the 2014 NFL Draft.

The pick, albeit a surprise, gets high praise from CBSSports.com senior writer Pete Prisco.

Initially Martin wasn’t high on many boards because he’s not a “pure tackle” but what vaulted him up during the draft process was his versatility. Martin can play guard or tackle and even dabble at center if need be.

A four-year starter with Notre Dame, Martin spent most of his time starting at tackle but projects all over the place. He’s more athletic than he’s given credit for but doesn’t necessarily have the ideal size.
