The 49ers' two-game trip was certainly a tale of two very different games. Following a loss at Minnesota, San Francisco bounced back with one of the most dominant performances the NFL has seen through four weeks.

Offense: B

Jets QB Tim Tebow was the NFL's supposed poster boy for running QBs, but he might have been third-best in Sunday's game against the 49ers. 49ers backup QB Colin Kaepernick carried five times for 50 yards and was the obvious bright spot for a balanced offense which gained 245 yards on the ground. Alex Smith showed he can be a versatile runner too, once on a designed run, the second on an option play.

Defense: A

Several 49ers contributed to the shutout -- and some Jets did, too. A few notable stats: New York ran for just one rushing first down, the 49ers forced four turnovers, the Jets converted on just 2 of 13 attempts on third down and averaged just 2.9 yards per play. Perhaps the most impressive tidbit was the fact that the Jets offense didn't reach the red zone during the game. QB Mark Sanchez's (13 of 29, 103 yards, 1 INT) poor play aided San Francisco's cause, but in the only other home game the Jets had this season, they put up 48 points in a win against Buffalo.

Special Teams: B+

It was a welcomed site having Ted Ginn Jr. back on punt returns for the 49ers as he made his season debut, which was delayed due to an ankle injury sustained during the preseason. Ginn had four punt returns for 40 yards, including a long of 20. P Andy Lee was used just twice, but pinned two punts inside the 5-yard line. K David Akers' missed field goals of 40 and 55 yards represented the only miscues.

Coaching: A

Following the team's poorest showing since coach Jim Harbaugh arrived prior to last season, the 49ers bounced back with one of their most complete games. The offensive play calling was creative, the defense was prepared and Jets coach Rex Ryan had no answers in any phase of the game.
