Alterraun Verner, Tommie Campbell could both see extended action this season

The winner of the starting cornerback battle between Alterraun Verner and Tommie Campbell will not necessarily remain the starter for the Titans, defensive coordinator Jerry Gray told The Tennesseean. He indicated that the determination could be made on a week-to-week basis based on matchups.

"Vern has some strengths in one area, and Tommie has some strengths in another," Gray said. "So we may end up using both of those guys during the season."

Verner will make his third preseason start Thursday night against Minnesota.
