LeSean McCoy exited the Bills' game against the Bengals with a thumb injury. Luckily, the injury is not believed to be serious.

Chris Brown, who works for the Bills, reported that McCoy will undergo surgery on his dislocated thumb, but he isn't expected to miss next week's game.

McCoy appeared to suffer the injury with roughly two minutes remaining in the first half when he was cleanly tackled out of bounds. McCoy headed to the locker room holding his left arm near his body, according to ESPN's Mike Rodak. The Bills initially announced that McCoy was questionable to return, but changed his designation to out.

Before he left the game, McCoy rushed for 33 yards on five carries. He also scored a touchdown.

Without McCoy in the backfield, the Bills leaned on Mike Gillislee, who rushed for 72 yards on 14 carries. And the Bills hung on for a 16-12 win over the Bengals.

Obviously, though, the majority of the concern was related to the injury's potential to derail McCoy's season. Entering Sunday, McCoy ranked fourth in the NFL in rushing yards per game with 85.4. But it doesn't seem like there's anything to worry about in the long term.

At 5-5, the Bills are very much alive in the playoff race. They'll need a healthy McCoy if they're to make a late-season push.
