Is Fujita's career over? (US Presswire)

As the NFL and the players suspended for the Saints' bounty program continue to tangle with each other over the length of the players’ suspensions, CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora has confirmed that the Browns fear the career of Scott Fujita, now a Cleveland linebacker, might be over because of a neck injury.

Fujita, as first reported by ESPN's Chris Mortensen, reportedly hurt his neck in Week 5 but for Week 6 was listed as questionable with a shoulder injury. He ultimately didn’t play in the Browns' win over the Bengals.

Fujita, an 11-year veteran, has been adamant that he had nothing to do with the Saints' bounty program. He originally was suspended for three games by commissioner Roger Goodell. The punishment was eventually reduced to one game, and Fujita had planned to appeal that.

According to La Canfora, discussions between the player and specialists are ongoing to determine a course of action, including possibly retirement.
