The Cardinals upended the Rams on Thursday night for their 11th win of the season. It was an ugly, defensive battle that featured the Cards losing Drew Stanton and surprising everyone by holding on for a win.

Almost everyone anyway. Bruce Arians wasn't surprised Arizona won and appreciated everyone picking the "always 8-8" Rams over his Cardinals.

"I love it when nobody says you have a chance to win. There is an 11-3 team and a team that is always 8-8," Arians said. "You figure it out."

I was pretty sure no one could top Jeff Fisher's sending out six captains to face the Redskinsmove in terms of a head coach firing shots at another team, but Arians has somehow outdone himself.

He's the best quote in football right now and absolutely on fire in terms of getting the most out of his players and defying the odds to win football games.

"Everybody wanted to talk all that stuff about how great their defense is. I think they saw a good defense tonight, it was in red and white," Arians said. "We blocked them. I think they had been reading their press clippings way too much."

You know what? Arians is right. After the Rams blanked the Redskins and Raiders in back-to-back weeks -- and just a few weeks removed from beating the Broncos -- they looked like one of the hottest teams in football.

The Cardinals didn't dominate them but they won the game and moved the ball as effectively as you can in a game with no touchdowns.

And the Rams got straight burnt courtesy of the best quote in football.
