There hasn't been a much better story in the NFL this year than the emergence of Cardinals rookie safety Tyrann Mathieu. Unfortunately that story is probably coming to an end after the Honey Badger suffered a torn ACL on Sunday.

That's what Bruce Arians believes happened anyway. The coach told reporters after the game that the team's operating under the assumption that Mathieu's done for the year with the left knee injury.

If Mathieu's done for the season it's a pretty big blow for the Cardinals defense. He's been an extremely impressive rookie, definitely inserting himself in the Defensive Rookie of the Year race.

It also stinks because Mathieu was booted from LSU for his final season due to off-field issues. He dropped in the draft as a result but appears to have turned his life around. America loves a good comeback story.

Hopefully Mathieu can generate another one.
