Quarterback Kevin Kolb came up big for Arizona against New England in Week 2. Can he lead the Cardinals (2-0) to a win over the Eagles (2-0) on Sunday?. (US Presswire)

Here are some news and notes from media outlets that regularly cover the Arizona Cardinals:

  • Quarterback John Skelton returned to practice for the first time since suffering an ankle injury late in the Cardinals' season-opening win over Seattle on Sept. 9, Josh Weinfuss of AZCardinals.com reported. Skelton only practiced on a limited basis and his status is still unknown for Arizona's matchup with Philadelphia on Sunday -- making it likely that Kevin Kolb will get the start against his former team -- though coach Ken Whisenhunt wasn't ruling anything out. “We've got to see if he’s able to handle a practice before we can make any kind of decision like that,” Whisenhunt said. “This is the first step in it. We’ll see how it progresses (Friday). It was good to see him working.”

  • Kolb, meanwhile, has won over his teammates with a blend of bravado and modesty, Craig Morgan of Fox Sports writes. "He's handled the highs and lows of this game with grace -- like a professional should," center Lyle Sendlein told Morgan. "When things didn't go his way, he wasn't a distraction in the locker room, and that really showed us a lot about the guy he was."

  • The Cardinals are going with their black jerseys against the Eagles, Kent Somers of AZCentral.com wrote.

  • Tight end Todd Heap returned to practice after missing Wednesday with an injured knee, Weinfuss wrote. RB Ryan Williams (knee), SS Adrian Wilson (ankle) and S Rashad Johnson (hamstring) were also among the limited participants.
