Despite Colts linebacker Robert Mathis recently indicating he would be ready for training camp, owner Jim Irsay was less optimistic, reports the IndyStar.

"Obviously, Robert is optimistic, and he's a fast-healer, and you just don't know," Irsay said. "[But] I would say I don't see him being football ready for the beginning of training camp, where he'd be a full-go guy and that sort of thing."

Mathis is recovering from a torn Achilles and Irsay said they want to make sure he is fully recovered before returning to the field.

"I think time will tell," Irsay said. "Obviously, Robert wants to be back as soon as he can be. We want him back as soon as he can be, but we also want to make sure when he comes back he's 100 percent healthy and ready to go."
