While it appeared the Cowboys would be back to normal after Chris Jones was able to play last week in Baltimore with a left knee injury, the left-footed punter was not on the field for Wednesday’s practice, which focuses on the punt team.

Instead, veteran Brian Moorman handled all of the reps and looked pretty good in doing so. Facing a steady wind, Moorman was booming his punts 50 to 60 yards down the field with plenty of hang time.

Last week, Moorman suffered a groin injury in practice that kept him from playing against the Ravens but looks healthy now. Moorman also has plenty of experience in holding, so if Jones isn’t 100 percent and ready to face the Panthers, it’s likely the Cowboys could carry two punters for another week.

Jones had only one punt last week for 32 yards, but handled all of the holds for field goals and extra points.

Moorman has played in one game for the Cowboys, punting three times on Oct. 1 against the Bears, including two downed inside the 10.
