Former teammates Fred Jackson and Marshawn Lynch are reunited once again, with Jackson agreeing to terms on a one-year deal with the Seattle Seahawks, CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora reports.

Jackson was released by Buffalo earlier this offseason after eight years with the Bills. His release wasn't without controversy as Buffalo GM Doug Whaley reportedly "went rogue" in his decision to release Jackson. (Whaley's since denied said rogue behavior.)

Shortly after being dumped by the Bills, Jackson visited with the Seahawks, and there were plenty of rumblings about him potentially signing.

Now he'll join a crowded backfield in Seattle, ostensibly serving as the primary backup to Lynch, who he helped mentor in Buffalo when Marshawn was drafted there.

Robert Turbin and Christine Michael round out a potent Seattle backfield that will be running behind an inexperienced offensive line -- adding a vet like Jackson is a smart move, especially with his ability to make a difference in the passing game.
