Report: Oakland re-signs defensive end Andre Carter
Andre Carter turns 34 next month, but he can still rush the passer. Oakland re-signed the defensive end to a one-year deal, according to a report. Carter has 78.5 career sacks and posted 10 sacks as recently as 2011 with the Patriots.
Defensive end Andre Carter, who has 78.5 career sacks and turns 34 next month, reportedly has re-signed with the Raiders for one year.
ESPN’s Josina Anderson tweeted the news, which she got from Carter’s agent.
A situational pass rusher last season, Carter finished with 19 tackles, 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble in 12 games.
He tore his quad in Week 14 of 2011 with the Patriots -- a season in which he had 10 sacks and two forced fumbles -- and didn’t start playing for Oakland until Week 6 last year.
The Raiders ranked 31st with 25 sacks last season.
