Normally, Rex Ryan loves to talk a big game. But when it came to discussing the topic of slowing down Rob Gronkowski and Martellus Bennett, the latter of whom the Patriots landed in a trade with the Bears, the Bills head coach got real honest real quick.

At the NFL owners meetings on Tuesday, Ryan was asked about defending the Patriots' newest tight-end duo. Ryan's response?

He doesn't have an answer.

"I have no idea," Ryan said, per ESPN. "I just think it's unusual to have two guys that are like 6-[foot]-7 and can run, catch, block. So, yeah, it's going to be a major challenge. There's no doubt about that. It's scary when you look at them. Those are two huge guys. How we're going to defend them, I don't know."

You'd think by now Ryan would be accustomed to the idea of the Patriots featuring an unstoppable tight-end combination, considering he coached the Jets when the Patriots used Aaron Hernandez alongside Gronk, but this is hardly the same. In Bennett, the Patriots gained a tight end who is more than capable of serving as a dominant blocker in addition to catching passes (90 receptions in 2014 and 53 catches in 11 games last season).

Ryan couldn't even find an accurate comparison for Gronk and Bennett.

"I can't really think of one," Ryan said, continuing, "I remember Kansas City had [Tony] Gonzalez and they had that kid [Jason Dunn] from Eastern Kentucky at one point, but that's hardly these two. Gonzalez is as good as anybody, but, ah, I don't know. It's going to be interesting."

"Ah, I don't know. It's going to be interesting" might be the most defeated Rex Ryan has ever sounded.
