Seahawks wide receiver Sidney Rice is in a walking boot and could miss Sunday's game because of a bruised foot, coach Pete Carroll said Wednesday.

Rice looked to have escaped Seattle's victory Sunday over the Cardinals injury-free, but he woke up Monday morning with a sore foot. X-rays and an MRI on the foot showed that nothing was wrong, so the team had Rice put the foot in a boot as a precaution. Rice didn't practice on Wednesday.

If Rice can't go against the Bills, that will most likely mean more playing time for WR Charly Martin at flanker, Carroll said.

Rice isn't the only Seahawk who sat out practice on Wednesday. CB Marcus Trufant missed practice with a hamstring injury that has nagged him for the past two weeks. Trufant was injured in practice on Nov. 29 and hasn't played since, sitting out Seattle's wins over Chicago and Arizona.

Banged up secondary: Trufant isn't the only ailing member of the Seahawks secondary. SS Kam Chancellor sat out practice on Wednesday with a  groin injury while CB Walter Thurmond was limited with a hamstring injury. Combined with the suspension of starting CB Brandon Browner, the Seahawks could be thin on experience when they travel to Toronto to play Buffalo on Sunday. DE Red Bryant (foot) also sat out practice on Wednesday.

Uphill battle: LB Leroy Hill returned to practice on Wednesday after missing two of the past three games with an ankle injury. However, Hill won't be sliding right back into his starting spot. Backup  Malcolm Smith performed admirably in Hill's absence and Carroll didn't commit to one or the other starting against the Bills.

Going Grey: The Seahawks will unveil their Wolf Grey uniforms against the Bills on Sunday. It will mark the first time Seattle has worn the alternate third uniforms (pictured above) since Nike redesigned the jerseys back in April. The Seahawks have worn a third alternate uniform one time before. That came in 2009, when they wore the electric green uniforms (pictured below) in a 25-19 loss to the Chicago Bears.
