If Terrelle Pryor's going to make it in the NFL as a wide receiver, it's not going to happen in Cleveland.

The quarterback-turned-wideout was cut by the Browns on Thursday, CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora has reported.

Pryor, who was on Cleveland's initial 53-man roster that was released last week, was clearly perturbed by the move.

"This will be a mistake by them," Pryor told Cleveland.com

The Browns were the first NFL team to use the Ohio State star as a wide receiver. The former Raiders quarterback decided to make the position switch in June after he was released by both the Chiefs and Bengals this past offseason. Pryor had tried out as a quarterback with both teams.

A sore hamstring sidelined Pryor for most of the preseason and he didn't end up seeing any action until the Browns final game, where he played exactly 17 snaps and caught zero passes.

Despite the fact the Pryor was banged up for most of training camp, the Browns still kept him on their 53-man roster.

After making it through final cuts, Pryor probably thought he was going to make the team, but instead, the Browns decided to dump him and add another running back.

Pryor's roster spot was used to claim former Seahawks running back Robert Turbin off waivers.
