Give praise, Vikings fans. It appears RB Adrian Peterson will play on Sunday after battling flu-like symptoms this week.

Vikings RB Adrian Peterson made a remarkable recovery from knee surgery to play in the first game of the season, and now he has turned his recuperative powers toward illness. Peterson returned to practice on Friday after missing Thursday with flu-like symptoms.

“I feel a whole lot better,” Peterson said after practice on Friday. “I just had a stomach bug."

Peterson said he woke up on Thursday feeling bad. He vomited at home but came into Winter Park anyway. Once there, his symptoms worsened and the training staff sent him home.

He appeared no worse for wear on Friday and had full participation at practice. But according to Peterson, it wouldn’t have mattered as far as Sunday’s game.

When asked if he could play with the flu, he said, “Of course I could play with the flu. But that’s not the case here.”

Injury update: Peterson, along with the following players, are listed as probable for the game: FB Jerome Felton (shoulder), LT Matt Kalil (knee), CB Antoine Winfield (knee), TE John Carlson (concussion), P Chris Kluwe (left knee), S Mistral Raymond (ankle), S Jamarca Sanford, DE Jared Allen (shoulder) and WR Jerome Simpson (calf). Doubtful: WR Percy Harvin and DT Letroy Guion.

“Letroy practiced [Friday], so we’ll see," Frazier said. "We’re going to still list him as doubtful. We’re not sure if he will make it or not. But he still has some time. If he continues to make progress, we’ll get him on the field.”
