Vikings WR Percy Harvin was held out of most of Thursday’s outdoor practice, recovering from an ankle sprain. He did a few things with his the receivers coach, but was listed as did not participate in practice on the injury report.

“We held Percy back,” coach Leslie Frazier after practice. “He got a little work [Wednesday], so we will see where he is [Friday]. But the fact that we were out here on the grass, we just wanted to give it another chance see where he is and then we will try him out [Friday] if we can.”

Frazier said Harvin seemed a little better after going through some drills indoors on Wednesday, but he still has to make more progress.

“The treatment and how it feels after we get done [Thursday] will be a better indication of what we get out of him [Friday] and if we have a chance for Sunday,” said Frazier. “Hopefully, he can do more Friday. Hopefully.”

Frazier said at this point it's a pain-tolerance issue, which has never been a problem for Harvin. Frazier said he wouldn’t put Harvin on the field just to make Green Bay plan for him -- the only consideration is whether or not Harvin could protect himself. Frazier needs to see more before he can make a decision.

“It’d be hard to put him out there in the game without seeing him run around a little bit more than what he did on Wednesday,” Frazier said. “It would be a big boost to us to have him, but we will have to see how he does [Friday].”
