WWE Raw results, recap, grades: The Rock and Roman Reigns beat down Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins

WrestleMania week got off to a bad start for Rhodes and Rollins

With less than one week until WrestleMania 40, Monday night's edition of Raw kicked off the biggest week of the WWE calendar. As such, it's no surprise that the show started and finished with a bang.

That bang came in the shape of undisputed WWE universal champion Roman Reigns and The Rock yet again getting the better of Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. On Saturday, Reigns and The Rock will team to face Rhodes and Rollins in the main event of Night 1 of WrestleMania. If The Bloodline manages to get the win, Rhodes vs. Reigns on Night 2 will be contested under "Bloodline Rules."

The WWE universe got a taste of what those rules look like in Monday's main event between Rollins and Solo Sikoa.

The Rock and Roman Reigns get the best of Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins

The Bloodline opened the show, with The Rock cutting a promo on last Monday's vicious attack on Rhodes that left Rhodes bloodied as the show went off the air. Reigns soon joined his cousin and continued to address their WrestleMania opponents, saying it would be the easiest WrestleMania of his life and that family would always come first.

This brought out Rollins, who addressed The Bloodline from the crowd. Rollins said he was looking for a fight and challenged The Rock or Reigns to take him up on the offer. Ultimately, it was neither man who accepted the challenge and Rollins instead would face Solo Sikoa later in the night in a match to be contested under "Bloodline Rules."

Seth Rollins vs. Solo Sikoa ended in a no contest after interference from the entire Bloodline, Jey Uso and Cody Rhodes. Rollins and Sikoa battled in and out of the ring, getting multiple tables involved and generally creating chaos. Things broke down quickly when Jimmy Uso interfered, bringing out Jey Uso to fight his brother off. Jey was quickly taken out by The Rock as the action went backstage. After The Rock entered the ring, Rollins smiled, with The Rock having fallen into his trap and Rhodes ran to the ring.

Before Rollins and Rhodes could do much to The Rock, Reigns slid out from under the ring to turn the tide and the show ended with Rock and Reigns delivering a prolonged beating to Rhodes and Rollins, whipping both men several times with Rhodes' weight belt.

For the second consecutive week, Raw had a hot final segment and WWE has things cooking just before WrestleMania. Rhodes and Rollins coming up on the losing side of the exchange should be more indication that Rhodes' moment will finally happen on Sunday night when he faces Reigns. That said, WWE has been unpredictable of late and it's no guarantee that Reigns' historic title reign will come to an end at the hands of "The American Nightmare." Grade: A

• The Judgment Day def. #DIY & The New Day via pinfall when Damian Priest hit Tommaso Ciampa with a Razor's Edge.
• Sami Zayn def. Bronson Reed via disqualification after Gunther attacked Zayn. During the match, Gunther dragged Chad Gable -- who had been preparing Zayn for his match with Gunther at WrestleMania -- out from backstage. Zayn left the ring to tend to his friend before Gunther's attack.
• Ivy Nile & Maxxine Dupri def. Candice LeRae & Indi Hartwell via pinfall when Dupri caught Hartwell with a roll-up.
• Ricochet def. Ivar via pinfall after landing a 630 splash.
• Becky Lynch and Rhea Ripley brawled despite Adam Pearce's attempts to intervene. Lynch said she and Ripley were all done talking and it was time to fight. Pearce came to the ring with security and said the two needed to save it for WrestleMania, but the women fought through security repeatedly before security finally broke things up.
• Damage CTRL def. Shayna Baszler, Tegan Nox & Zoey Stark via pinfall when Kairi Sane hit a diving elbow on Nox.
