The outfielder is just 1-for-10 over his last four contests, but he was able to pick up his first RBI since May 18 on a groundout Tuesday. • Mike Siani CF | STL

Cardinals' Mike Siani: Picks up steal Tuesday

Siani went 1-for-1 with a stolen base and a run scored in Tuesday's 7-1 win over the Reds.

Siani entered the game as a pinch runner for Brendan Donovan in the seventh inning, but he picked up his steal in the eighth. Siani initially got the day off while mired in an 0-for-14 slump over his last five contests. The outfielder is up to a .211/.272/.274 slash line with six steals, one home run, six RBI and 14 runs scored across 109 plate appearances this year. He's seen a starting role in center field lately, though Dylan Carlson got the nod there Tuesday.

Cardinals' Ivan Herrera: Posts three hits in win

Herrera went 3-for-5 with one RBI and one run scored in Tuesday's 7-1 win over the Reds.

Herrera went 1-for-11 over his previous three games before breaking out of the slump Tuesday. All three of his hits were singles in this contest. The catcher is up to a .276/.344/.362 slash line with three home runs, 16 RBI, 15 runs scored and one stolen base across 131 plate appearances.

  • Nolan Gorman 2B | STL

Cardinals' Nolan Gorman: Blasts homer Tuesday

Gorman went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 7-1 win over the Reds.

Gorman has four homers, two steals, eight RBI and eight runs scored over his last nine games, batting .321 (9-for-28) in that span. It's a good run of consistency at the plate for the infielder, who has struggled to put it all together at times this season. He's at a .214/.306/.428 slash line with nine long balls, 23 RBI, 21 runs scored and two steals through 47 contests overall while holding down a starting role at second base.

  • Nolan Arenado 3B | STL

Cardinals' Nolan Arenado: Ends power drought

Arenado went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and a walk in Tuesday's 7-1 win over the Reds.

Arenado went 11 games without a homer prior to Tuesday. In that span, he hit a paltry .222 (10-for-45). The third baseman took Andrew Abbott deep in the fourth inning to give the Cardinals all the offense they needed in the win. Arenado is still having a rough year overall with four homers, 25 RBI, 21 runs scored, 10 doubles and a .257/.311/.366 slash line over 52 contests. While the Cardinals' offense has struggled at times, Arenado has not been able to lead by example as much as he has in previous years.

  • Clay Holmes RP | NYY

Yankees' Clay Holmes: Takes blown save

Holmes allowed two hits in one-third of an inning, taking a blown save in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Angels.

Holmes inherited two runners from Luke Weaver and allowed both to score on a Taylor Ward double that flipped the Yankees' one-run lead to a one-run deficit. While he wasn't charged with either run, Holmes ended up taking his third blown save of the season, two of which have come in his last four outings. Despite the recent troubles, he's still at a 1.54 ERA and 26:6 K:BB this year, though his 1.24 WHIP is less encouraging. Holmes is still the Yankees' top closing option with 15 saves on the season.

  • Nestor Cortes SP | NYY

Yankees' Nestor Cortes: Decent in no-decision

Cortes allowed two runs on five hits and struck out four without walking a batter over 5.1 innings in a no-decision versus the Angels on Tuesday.

Cortes allowed multiple runs for the first time in three starts, but it was still a passable outing for the southpaw. He allowed a total of nine runs (eight earned) over 29 innings across five starts in May while adding a 30:8 K:BB in that span. Cortes is at a 3.30 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 67:15 K:BB through 71 innings over 12 starts this season. He's projected to make his next start on the road in San Francisco.

Angels' Luis Rengifo: Notches three hits

Rengifo went 3-for-4 with two runs scored in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Yankees.

Rengifo did a good job of getting on base, and he was able to score after his singles in the first and eighth innings. The infielder has been locked in since returning from an illness May 17, going 15-for-42 (.357) over his last 10 contests. That has raised his slash line to .331/.378/.504 with four home runs, 12 stolen bases, 17 RBI and 22 runs scored across 144 plate appearances on the year.

Pillar has hit safely in his last 11 games, going 20-for-41 (.488) in that span. He's logged a trio of three-hit efforts during the streak. The outfielder is up to a .349/.402/.639 slash line with six homers, 24 RBI, 14 runs scored, six stolen bases, four doubles and a triple over 34 contests this season. He struggled initially with the White Sox, but he's been excellent since joining the Angels at the end of April.
