NORTHRIDGE, Calif. (AP) Tavrion Dawson stroked a 3-pointer with a second left to earn Cal State Northridge a 79-76 win over Idaho State on Saturday night.

Geno Luzcando's 3-pointer with eight seconds left pulled Idaho State even at 76-76, but the Matadors' Kendall Smith got the ball to Dawson for the game-winner.

The Bengals took the lead, 73-72 with 2:14 left on Brandon Boyd's layup, but Ethan Telfair missed a jumper to extend the lead and Northridge (3-5) regained the lead on a layup by Dawson with just under a minute to go.

Dawson finished with 28 points on 10-of-14 shooting, hitting the only 3-pointer he attempted as time expired. Smith added 18 points and dished out four assists. Rakim Lubin added 14 points.

Telfair and Boyd finished with 26 and 22 points, respectively, for Idaho State (1-7), which remains winless on the road.
