HAMPTON, Va. (AP) Freshman Jermaine Marrow scored a career-high 27 points and Lawrence Cooks added a career-high 23 as Hampton rallied in the second half to beat William & Mary 79-69 on Saturday.

Daniel Dixon's 3-point play brought William & Mary to within one at 65-64 with 3:50 to go before the Pirates went 4-for-6 shooting from the free throw line, Trevond Barnes made a layup and Cooks made a 3 to give Hampton a 73-67 lead with 70 seconds left.

William & Mary led 44-34 at halftime. Barnes hit a jumper and a 3 out of the break and Hampton (2-6) closed to five. Jack Whitman's layup gave the Tribe a 50-43 lead with 16:59 remaining, but Hampton went on a 17-2 run to take the lead 60-52 in just under six minutes.

Omar Prewitt had 21 points, 11 boards, and five assists for William & Mary (3-4).
