Angels' Nick Tropeano: Rehab going well, 2017 return still unlikely

Tropeano said his rehab from Tommy John surgery is going well and he could resume throwing in a few weeks, but a 2017 return is unlikely, the Orange County Register reports.

Tropeano went under the knife last August, so even a late return this season would be a stretch considering the recovery time from Tommy John surgery generally falls in the 12-18 month range. With the current state of the Angels' rotation, the 26-year-old would likely slot right back into the rotation when he eventually returns to the mound.
