Angels' Yunel Escobar: Will resume swinging Monday

Escobar (oblique) is scheduled to resume swinging a bat Monday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Escobar had reached the final phase of the recovery process from the strained right oblique by participating in two rehab games with High-A Inland Empire last week, but he was pulled off the minor-league assignment after experiencing some renewed stiffness. After a few days off to recuperate, Escobar seems to have shown some improvement, but an exact timetable for his return from the 10-day disabled list has yet to be determined. More clarity on that front could arrives if his swinging goes well Monday.
