Lee, who was demoted to Triple-A Tacoma on Friday, is expected to be recalled when rosters expand Sept. 1, the Seattle Times reports.
Lee batted an abysmal .109/.246/.200 after the All-Star break. and he said he lost his timing at the plate, so the Mariners sent him down to play every day and, hopefully, get his timing back. Stefen Romero will handle the right side of the platoon at first base with lefty Adam Lind.
