Wright (neck) underwent a successful cervical disectomy and fusion surgery Thursday and no timetable for his return has been released, Jon Heyman of MLB Network reports.
Wright met with team doctors earlier in the week to discuss the course of action regarding his neck injury and ultimately they decided to have him undergo a surgical procedure. The surgery was successful, but the remainder of his season remains in doubt as there is no timetable for his return. Barring a move at the trade deadline, the Mets will likely use a combination of Wilmer Flores, Kelly Johnson, and Matt Reynolds at the hot corner with Wright sidelined.
