McGee struck out the side to record his first save of the season Friday against the Dodgers.
With just a one-run lead to protect, McGee didn't take any chances by letting the ball be put in play in the hitter-friendly environment that is Coors Field. Although he's not the Rockies' regular closer, Greg Holland's heavy usage early in the season gave McGee an opportunity against a Dodgers lineup that struggles against left-handed pitching.
