The Royals remain hopeful that Hahn (shoulder) will be ready to resume live pitching before the end of the season, even though he remains limited to throwing off a mound in significantly controlled settings, MLB.com reports.
Even if Hahn advances to facing hitters before season's end, the Royals don't seem to have much optimism that he'll actually be ready to return from the 60-day injured list to pitch in games. The Royals initially placed Hahn on the IL on April 12 with right shoulder impingement syndrome, and though he resumed a rehab assignment a month later, he made only two appearances in the minors before being shut down when he experienced a setback.
