Telis was optioned to the alternate training site Friday.
The 29-year-old was promoted from the practice squad Wednesday but was removed from the roster without appearing in a game for the Twins. Telis is unlikely to have much of a role for Minnesota with catching options Mitch Garver, Ryan Jeffers and Willians Astudillo all healthy.
