Rodriguez, who is not in the lineup Tuesday, will not return to the order until Thursday's game against the Red Sox, Mark Feinsand of the New York Daily News reports.
Although Rodriguez's final game in a Yankee uniform is approaching, manager Joe Girardi remains adamant about giving his younger players some playing time and leaving the veteran on the bench. The Yankees will be facing lefty Drew Pomeranz on Wednesday, but Rodriguez will not be in the lineup on that day, either. Instead, he'll be back for his final game against the Red Sox in Fenway on Thursday when he faces knuckleballer Steven Wright.
