Williams was transferred to the 60-day DL on Saturday.
This has nothing to do with Williams' recovery, as he was not expected to return until June at the earliest, but the Yankees needed to open up a spot on the 40-man roster for J.R. Graham, who they acquired Saturday. Once Williams is activated, he will likely be sent down to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
