With the Lakers out of playoff contention, the team wants its younger players to receive more playing time.

As a result, forward Carlos Boozer said coach Byron Scott said he and forward Jordan Hill would sit out the next four-to-five games, reports the Los Angeles Daily News.

"It makes sense for the future," Boozer said. "They're trying to figure out and evaluate which guys to bring back."

Boozer and Hill both missed Tuesday's loss due to a coaches decision. Guards Jordan Clarkson and Jeremy Lin started together Tuesday for the first time all season.

"I told them we're going to put you guys on the bench and try these young guys for a minute," assistant coach Paul Pressey said.
