Cowboys' Tony Romo: Forced out early Thursday

Romo left Thursday's matchup with the Seahwaks early due to an apparent back injury.

Romo was scrambling and attempting to slide when he was hit from behind. He was subsequently replaced under center by Dak Prescott. Romo was checked out by the trainers on the sideline, and began throwing in an attempt to return to the game. However, the Cowboys have indicated he will not return due to a coaches decision. It is unsurprising that the team is choosing to be cautious with their star quarterback. Expect them to continue exercising caution in the short term as a means of avoiding a lingering issue.
