Jefferson (foot) was designated to return from IR on Monday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Jefferson was signed off the team's practice squad Oct. 8, but suffered the injury soon after and hasn't played since Week 5 against the Packers. The veteran safety now has a 21-day window to practice with the team before he needs to be placed on the 53-man roster.
