Saints' Sheldon Rankins: Activated from IR

Rankins (left fibula) has been activated to the Saints 53-man roster, Field Yates of ESPN reports.

Rankins is officially the Saints' one player to be promoted from the injured reserve this season. The 2016 first-round pick will immediately compete for a starting spot along the Saints' defensive line once he is able to return to game action. Check back in Sunday to confirm his status for Week 9.
