Lightning's Tanner Richard: Placed on waivers, headed to minors

Richard was placed on waivers by the Lightning on Sunday with the intention of sending him to the minors, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.

Richard was one of 12 players recalled by the Lightning late last season but will return to the AHL club for some extra seasoning. The 23-year-old forward racked up 54 points (11 goals, 43 assists) with AHL Syracuse last season and could be a call-up option should the Lightning need some offensive assistance.
