Red Sox icon David Ortiz's playing career ended last month, but his farewell tour is still ongoing.

Friday night, JetBlue Airlines announced Gate 34 in Terminal C at Boston's Logan Airport will be renamed to honor Big Papi in the near future, reports the Associated Press. The announcement was made at a private party honoring Ortiz.

"'You mean I'm going to have my own gate at the airport? You're (messing) with me, aren't you?" said Ortiz, who wore No. 34 with the Red Sox, at the event, according to the Associated Press.

The Brookline Avenue bridge outside Fenway Park was recently renamed for Ortiz, plus he received all sorts of gifts during his final season, including a painting from the Yankees, cigars from the White Sox, and cowboy boots from the Rangers. Something tells me people aren't done naming things after David Ortiz.

Ortiz, who will turn 41 later this month, announced back in spring training that he will retire after the season. He had a historically great final season, hitting .315/.401/.620 with 48 doubles, 38 home runs, and 127 RBI. The Red Sox were swept in the ALDS by the Indians though, so Big Papi's career came to quick end.
