Travis Snider may join the Blue Jays soon.
- Blue Jays' outfielder Travis Snider was pulled from the Las Vegas 51s' game after two innings on Thursday and is expected to meet the Blue Jays in Boston. It is not clear if the team will activate Snider, according to Sportsnet.ca's Shi Davidi. In 2009, Snider was ranked sixth on Baseball America's top prospect list. The 24-year-old outfielder has a .248/.307/.423 line in the majors.
- The Mets are looking to acquire controllable players, according to a team official who spoke to the New York Post's Joel Sherman. The cost for those players is expensive, which is why the team has been linked to Francisco Rodriguez and Brett Myers, both of whom can be free agents at the end of the season. Myers has a $10 million club option for the 2013 season, but can be bought out for $3 million.
- With Jayson Werth beginning his rehab stint on Friday and Chad Tracy expected to be activated soon, the Nationals will have to make some roster moves, according to CSNWashington.com's Mark Zuckerman. Mark DeRosa, Roger Bernadina and Tyler Moore could be among the bench players who lose their roster spots once Werth or Tracy returns. Since the team doesn't want to carry an eight-man bullpen, Craig Stammen or Ryan Mattheus are the most likely to go. Both players have been solid this season, but they can be optioned to the minors. If the team were to option pitchers Henry Rodriguez or Mike Gonzalez, another team could claim them.
