The Phillies have outrighted right-handed relief pitcher Brian Sanches to Triple-A Lehigh Valley to make room for Roy Halladay on the roster, tweeted Comcast Sportsnet's Jim Salisbury.

Sanches has been up and down this season; this is the second time he's been outrighted to the minors. He's struggled with Philadelphia, allowing seven earned runs in 6.1 innings. He heads down with an ERA of 9.95, a WHIP of 2.27, and an opponents batting average of .387.

It's been a different story for Sanches in Triple-A, where he has a 2.48 ERA in 21 games, with 29 strikeouts in 32.2 innings.

Halladay last pitched on May 27, when he lasted only two innings against the Cardinals, before hitting the DL with a shoulder strain. He's 4-5 on the season with a 3.98 ERA. His return is a big boost for the Phillies, who are looking to climb back into contention in the NL, and who've won three of four since the All-Star break.

Halladay will face the Dodgers Tuesday night in Los Angeles. He's 4-1 in his career against the Dodgers, with a 1.93 ERA in 37.1 innings.
