Five pitchers for current playoff teams are slated to begin rehab assignments following the All-Star break.

  • Chien-Ming Wang (hip) is set to play for Double-A Harrisburg on Friday, Amanda Comak of the Washington Times reports. Wang last pitched for Washington June 30. He lost his spot in the starting rotation to Ross Detwiler before suffering the injury.
  • Alexi Ogando is planning to throw Thursday and Saturday for Triple-A Round Rock before returning to the Rangers on Tuesday, ESPN Dallas reports. His most recent appearances was a start June 10 against San Francisco, when he sustained a strained right groin running out a bunt. He'll likely return to the bullpen upon his return given Roy Oswalt's arrival and Derek Holland's return to health.
  • Neftali Feliz is slated to pitch Sunday and Wednesday for Round Rock, with no return date to the major leagues set as of yet, ESPN Dallas adds. Feliz is dealing with elbow inflammation and could also see a move to the bullpen upon his return.
  • Koji Uehara (right lat) will also throw at Round Rock on Saturday.
  • Mark Lowe (right intercostal) will throw a bullpen in Seattle as the Rangers begin the second half and could begin a rehab assignment shotly after.
