Perhaps wanting to keep with Dwyane Wade -- their own fashionable superstar -- the Miami Heat recently unveiled three new alternate uniforms: Home Strong, Legacy and Throwback. The Heat will wear each uniform for specific games from November through February.
Miami's Home Strong uniforms pay homage to the American Armed Forces and will be worn for three games surrounding Veterans Day in November.
The jerseys are mainly olive and tan in color, have "stars on the right shoulder to honor the 5 branches of armed service" and similar to the American flag, sport 13 stripes on the left shoulder.
The Legacy uniforms have Miami on the front instead of Heat. They are red, black and white ("to honor Heat playoff color campaigns") and have side paneling just on one side, which is "a homage to the original Heat uniforms."
The Heat will wear these uniforms for eight games in December and for the last time on January 3.
The Heat also unveiled a Throwback uniform, which the team will wear for seven games in February. These uniforms are reminiscent of the uniforms the Heat wore in the '90s.
Overall, all of the Heat's new uniforms look pretty good. The Home Strong uniforms are unique and it will be interesting to see how they look in actual game action, but they do have a special message behind them, which is cool to see. The Toronto Raptors and San Antonio Spurs also have military-inspired uniforms. However, the best new look may be the Throwback uniforms, which have eye-catching colors and are quite striking in their simplicity. If only the Heat could wear these uniforms all season long.
