The Buffalo Bills got their surprising release out of the way last week when they cut DE Shawne Merriman, so there were no shockers among the list of nine players released Sunday. LB Danny Batten was the only former Bills draft pick to be released. Buffalo’s roster is now at 75 players.

Complete cut list: LB Danny Batten (2nd year, sixth round in 2010 draft, South Dakota State); WR David Clowney (3rd year, fifth-round pick of the New York Jets in 2007, Virginia Tech); DE Sean Ferguson (rookie, undrafted, Mississippi State); CB Prince Miller (2nd year, undrafted, Georgia); TE Fendi Ononbun (2nd year, undrafted, Houston); DT Jay Ross (1st year, undrafted, East Carolina); WR Derek Session (rookie, undrafted, Maine); DB Nick Sukay (rookie, undrafted, Penn State); OG Jake Vermiglio (1st year, undrafted, North Carolina State).

The team also placed TE Mike Caussin (knee) on the Reserve/PUP list, which has been expected for some time. Caussin is eligible to return to practice and be activated from the day after Buffalo’s sixth game to the day after Buffalo’s ninth game. DB Josh Nesbitt was also released from injured reserve following an injury settlement.
