The Patriots avoided disaster Wednesday, after Tom Brady took a low hit during a joint practice with the Bucs and ended up on the ground holding his left knee. Instead of a future that involves Ryan Mallett and -- yep, you knew this was coming -- Tim Tebow, it looks like Brady will be fine, and he could play in Friday's preseason game.

But with all the uncertainty in the AFC East, couldn't a Brady-less Pats' team still win 11 games, like they did with Matt Cassel under center in '08? Or, at the very least, they would cruise to the division title, right?

On the latest episode of the EoF Podcast, Will Brinson and Ryan Wilson talk about this as well as: If the Bills should give rookie quarterback EJ Manuel the starting job outright, Rex Ryan calling Jets rookie Geno Smith "brutal" at practice Wednesday, why rookie Le'Veon Bell deserves to be a (co-)first-team running back in Pittsburgh, all before previewing Thursday's Week 2 preseason games.
