Dez Bryant has now missed the Dallas Cowboys' last two games after suffering a hairline fracture in his right knee. The Cowboys have been describing Bryant's status as day-to-day or week-to-week, but he's yet to return to practice.

If it were up to Bryant, according to the Dallas Morning News, his return to the practice field would happen this week, ahead of the Cowboys' visit to Lambeau Field to take on the Packers this Sunday.

Dez Bryant said Tuesday that he plans on practicing this week. The Cowboys wide receiver wasn't specific about how much he'll be able to do, but participating in practice is the next step in the rehab process.

Bryant has missed the last two games and the last two weeks of practice with a hairline fracture in his right knee. He was using an electronic stimulation machine on his right knee during Tuesday's locker room availability.

While Bryant is optimistic that he'll get back on the field, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones cautioned that his status for Sunday's game is still unknown.

"We'll have to see how he works this week," Jones said in a radio appearance. "We won't take any chances there. But with the way he was running at the end of last week, he had some sensitivity or he would've played. We'll take a good look at it this week. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will be big days in where he's going to be against Green Bay."

The Cowboys have been able to move the ball pretty well even without Bryant the last two weeks thanks in large part to their dominant offensive line, the electric running of Ezekiel Elliott, and the poise, patience, and pocket presence of Dak Prescott, but they're now running up against the No. 1 run defense in football. If they have to turn to the passing game more often, they'll undoubtedly want their No. 1 receiver on the field.

But as Jerry said, they don't want to take any chances. Bryant broke his a bone in his first during the 2015 season opener and came back quicker than expected, and did not look like himself in struggling through much of the rest of the season. With the Cowboys sitting at 4-1, it's much more important that they have Bryant back for the 10 games after their Week 7 bye than that they have him for this matchup with the Packers.
