Jets linebacker Jermaine Cunningham was arrested in late December and charged with spreading sexual images and illegally transporting a handgun, reports The Star-Ledger. Cunningham was arrested at his apartment after police responded to a 911 from someone nearby, the report said.

Officers got Cunningham's consent to search his Audi and found a .380 handgun in the glove compartment, according to a spokesman for the prosecutor's office. The spokesman said Cunningham "was charged with third-degree invasion of privacy under a state law that prohibits the disclosure of sexual images of a person without the individual's consent," the paper said.

Cunningham also was charged with criminal mischief for the destruction of clothing. Further details were not released.
