Defensive end Kamerion Wimbley is in the second year of a five-year contract for $35 million and his role has been reduced by the Titans. But his job is safe, Mike Munchak told The Tennessean.
Wimbley, whose strength has always been as a pass rusher, has been replaced as a starter by 300-pound Ropati Pitoitua in an attempt to shore up the run defense. But Munchak still anticipates plenty of playing time for the eight-year veteran.
"Once you get into nickel and some other packages - some packages we haven't been using, and haven't been doing all the things we're going to do - he'll show up in areas. We'll get his play count to where it should be."
